King Community Church was started as a direct result of several tent revival meetings that were held during the summer of 1950 by Rev. Grady Collins and Francis Blackburn. These meetings were a great success and continued even after the founding of the church.
It was after one of these meetings that it was decided a church should be organized in the King area. Mr. Tisey Calloway gave the land for the new church building and the men of the church did the construction. The first service was held in the new church building on the first Sunday of January, 1951, with Grady Collins as pastor. The building has undergone changes and additions, but still serves as our main church building today. |
